Parisians used to Hang Out at the Morgue for Fun

Indeed, the Paris Morgue was listed in many of the top travel guidebooks for Paris. Charles Dickens was known to be a frequent visitor and describes the Paris Morgue in several of his journals as an “old acquaintance”, and “a strange sight, which I have contemplated many a time during the last dozen years”.

Curraghmore House and Gardens
Curraghmore House is located in Portlaw, County Waterford. You are not allowed to take pictures of the interior while on the tour, and it is a shame because there are so many treasures located in this house (including huge paintings by Rubens, Gilbert Stuart and many others) |
